During lunch, the celebration continued as awards were given out.

Repeater Award

Nora Nell Hardy Jackson
This award is given to the attendee who has been to the most Conventions. Mrs. Jackson attended her first Convention in 1970 and hasn't missed once since. She's attended a total of 27 Conventions!

Nora Nell Hardy Jackson Outstanding House Director Award

Patty Thomas, Alpha Xi Chapter House Director (Indiana University)
Since 2002, National Council has selected an Outstanding House Director and honored her at Convention. Chapters with residential housing nominate candidates for this award, which is based on management of staff and budget, care of the chapter facility and relationship with the chapter members. Since most House Directors are not Zeta Tau Alphas, this is the only Convention award ever given to a non-member. This award was named after former National President and ZTA Fraternity Housing Corporation President Nora Nell Hardy Jackson after her retirement from the FHC in 2006.

Outstanding Housing Advisor Awards

Ginny Love Watkins, Theta Eta Chapter (Stephen F. Austin University)
This dedicated alumna is fiercely loyal to ZTA and her own collegiate chapter that she serves as housing advisor. No problem is too big for her and she is ready to jump right in to any challenge without hesitation. While she is a working mother, she continues to put ZTA at the top of her priority list and keeps the welfare of the Fraternity at heart. She wants the best for the women of this chapter and is not afraid to speak up and advocate for its needs. She is knowledgeable and well connected in the university community, respectful of everyone and loved by all who know her.

Sarah Schroeder Alessi (Kappa Alpha Chapter, Colorado State University) Upsilon Chapter (University of California, Berkeley) Housing Advisor
When the Fraternity Housing Corporation was looking for a new home for this chapter, this loyal Zeta took on the role of “house hunter,” researching available listings and sending the FHC leads. Since then, she has said “yes” to being the housing advisor, general advisor and member of an FHC committee. She is dedicated to both ZTA and her family, often driving to the house with the family and kiddos in tow. She is always willing to help, no matter how big the job. She works hand in hand with all National Officers with only the best intentions. Although she was initiated at Kappa Alpha Chapter at Colorado State University, she’s been California dreamin’ for the last decade.

Award for Excellence in Housing Leadership

Julia Marthaler Hill, Eta Rho Chapter (The University of North Alabama)
he Fraternity Housing Corporation created this new biennial award to recognize the dedication required to sustain the quality of our facilities and the proud tradition of ZTA’s leadership in fraternity/sorority housing. The first recipient of this award has provided that dedication and leadership to the FHC for 20 years. During that time, the number of facilities owned or managed by the FHC has grown significantly. Nearly every single chapter room, residence hall suite, lodge,or house reflects the eye for beauty and attention to detail that are trademarks of this talented ZTA volunteer who is also a professional interior designer. As National President and a member of the FHC board from 2002 to 2006, as FHC President from 2006 to 2018, and as FHC Vice President Design from 2018 until today, she has collaborated with other board members, alumnae volunteers and collegians across the country to create gorgeous and functional spaces where our members can live, study and enhance their sisterhood. She has been such a driving force for excellence in housing leadership that not only have we chosen to give her this inaugural award, but also to name the award in her honor.
