Conducting Fraternity Business

By tradition, our Convention has grown to include guest speakers, workshops, meals and celebrations. However, the Constitution & Bylaws of Zeta Tau Alpha require only that the International Convention conduct the legislative business of the Fraternity. Typically, Convention includes three formal Business Meetings. As part of the transition to a virtual experience, we will conduct one Business Meeting online on Saturday, June 27. At this meeting, Official Delegates will elect National Council for the 2020-2022 biennium.

More information on the exact time and format of this Business Meeting is forthcoming. We will communicate details, including how to register, directly to the eligible voting delegates.

All members in good standing may attend the virtual Business Meeting; however, only the official Convention body is eligible to vote. Those persons include:

  • National Council members
  • Former National Presidents
  • Five officers of the ZTA Foundation
  • Four officers of the ZTA Fraternity Housing Corporation
  • Province Presidents
  • District Presidents
  • Chairmen of the following Standing Committees

    • Alumnae-Collegiate Relations
    • Alumnae Programming
    • Archives
    • Chapter Financial Management
    • Constitution & Bylaws
    • Fraternity Education
    • Music
    • NPC Delegation
    • Membership Enrichment

The ZTA Fraternity Housing Corporation will also hold its biennial meeting and election of officers virtually on June 27. The FHC will send details to the Official Delegate of the 166 collegiate chapters who are member associations of the corporation.
